2 day Intermediate Navigation Course

Our course will help you improve your confidence and skills you need to enjoy the outdoors.

Looking to improve your navigation skills, or are you a bit ‘rusty’ after not practicing navigation for a while?

Our Intermediate Navigation Course is perfect for those looking to build on their navigation skills, to confidently find their way around the wilderness.

This is a two day package conducted at the Bug Out in Builth Wells, Mid Wales where you will brush up on the theory of maps, scales, map symbols and grid references, plus learn to use a compass, orientate your map, check your direction and follow bearings. You will then put your skills into practice, applying the lessons learned in practical exercises. We will also be conducting night navigation during the course.

This is a hands-on weekend, with lots of opportunity to learn and practice under the friendly supervision of an experienced and fully qualified mountain leader and former Pathfinder. You will absorb plenty of information and build useful skills that can be applied in future navigation situations.
